The conflict in Ukraine began as a tug-of-war between the EU and Russia over whose economic union Kiev would join. And with the proliferation of regional trade agreements around the world, the very foundation of the WTO and global free trade is being brought into question. Can a ceasefire on the marketplace bring peace to Ukraine, and is “integrating the integrations” the key to a truly unified global economy?
