Turkey coup: Erdogan brought this on himself by emasculating military – ex-Pentagon official
A coup d'etat attempt is taking place in Turkey, reportedly organized by the Turkish military. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan made a statement saying that a “minority” within the military is responsible the uprising. Former Pentagon official Michael Maloof joins RT America’s Manila Chan to discuss the latest developments. He explains that tension between the Turkish military and President Erdogan has been brewing since he purged the general staff of the Turkish military when he took office.

‘We are on the frontline against terrorism’ – French Ambassador
In an exclusive interview with RT America, French Ambassador to the US Gerard Araud says that for historical and geographic reasons, France is on the frontline against terrorism. Ambassador Araud also tells RT America’s Anya Parampil that France must fight radical Islamic terrorism together with Muslim countries and the west. He also thanked the American people for their solidarity with the French.
