Inequality at Davos 2015, Peace One Day, & Trident protests (E164)

Published 21 Jan, 2015 10:19 | Updated 21 Jan, 2015 10:19

Afshin Rattansi goes underground on growing global inequality, following the World Economic Forum happenings at Davos this week. Nick Dearden of Global Justice Now warns it perpetuates the 'propaganda' that the system benefits all of us, although the rich tend to come off best. Jeremy Gilley, founder of Peace One Day, talks about his battle for peace across the world, talking to those profiting from the arms trade to the Taliban as he tries to bring anyone he feels can make a difference to the negotiating table. With Trident protests planned this weekend, we ask if renewal could breach the Non-Proliferation Treaty. As Cameron commits to full UK employment, we look at the plight of today’s 3 million unemployed. And one week after Japan announced its biggest ever defense budget, their foreign minister meets with Defence Secretary Michael Fallon in London.
