On Net Neutrality and ‘the arrogance of the Federal Reserve’

Published 28 Feb, 2015 08:27 | Updated 28 Feb, 2015 08:26

The US Federal Communications Commission approved new “Open Internet” rules in a 3-to-2 vote on Thursday that have proponents of net neutrality claiming victory. The FCC order reclassifies internet service providers' offerings under Title II of the Communications Act, in a way that makes ISPs subject to regulation as common carriers. Since this whole debate began, many have been frustrated because they have no idea what the fuss is about. Edward Harrison weighs in.

Then, Erin sits down with Anthony Randazzo – director of economic research at the Reason Foundation. Anthony tells us what the new FCC rules on net neutrality mean for Internet providers and users and gives us his take on immigration policy and what he sees as the Federal Reserve’s arrogance.

After the break is Defining Moments, showcasing the most interesting comments from our recent guests. This week’s segment includes James Galbraith, George Magnus, Barry Eichengreen, and Peter Schiff.

And in The Big Deal, Edward and Bianca Facchinei pick through viewer commentary on social media and respond to #DressGate. Note that the full interviews are now – and sometimes, belatedly - being uploaded to YouTube. If you want to see the unedited versions of our guest interviews, check these out.
