Ken Silverstein on the “dirty” side of the oil industry and August job numbers

Published 6 Sep, 2014 05:55 | Updated 6 Sep, 2014 05:55

Our lead story: It’s the first Friday of the month, which means BLS numbers! Hiring slowed in the US in August as the economy created just 142,000 jobs – marking the smallest gain since December, according to the Bureau of Labor and Statistics. Erin takes a look.

Erin is also joined by investigative reporter and author Ken Silverstein to talk about oil, specifically the issues surrounding the modern oil industry. After the break includes the “Best of the Week” segment, featuring all of our interviews this week!

And in The Big Deal, Erin and Edward Harrison discuss CVS’s decision to stop selling cigarettes and determine what the jobs’ report numbers really say. Tune in!
