An anonymous Belgian has tried to hammer out through eBay the right-wing party New Flemish Alliance (N-VA).

The description of the lot, announced on Tuesday, said the seller hoped that whoever bought the party would find a better use for it than blocking formation of a new government, which the N-VA is doing at the moment.The offer included free shipping and a free waffle iron as a bonus. However the seller stressed that no money-back option is provided.Belgium is suffering from a long-lasting political crisis, with the parliament not able to form a working cabinet of ministers. The difficulties arise from the tension between French-speaking and Dutch-speaking populations.The online auction, however, withdrew the lot on Thursday without a single bid having been made.
