Russian athlete Nagorny: Phygital Games - the competition of the future that has already come to reality

Olympic champion of the Tokyo Games and president of the All-Russian Federation of Phygital Sports (ARFPS), Nikita Nagornyy, spoke about the Phygital Games in Kazan.

“I have never seen such a beautiful venue anywhere; it is very cool, modern, and innovative. This is the competition of the future that has already arrived. I understand that there will always be things to improve, but that’s why we organise these competitions. We always carefully listen to the athletes’ feedback and wishes because that’s how we can strive for perfection,” Nagornyy said, according to the ‘Games of the Future’ press office.

The 10th Anniversary Phygital Games started in Kazan and will take place from October 5th to 22nd. Athletes from 17 countries are participating. The winners of the anniversary competitions will receive invitations to the first multisport international tournament ‘Games of the Future’.

In addition to traditional football and basketball, there will be tournaments in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) and tactical battles of Warface and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) combined with laser tag.

Phygital Games combine traditional sports and esports. The ‘Games of the Future’ will be held in Kazan from February 23rd to March 3rd, 2024.
