Dozens have been filmed watching a landslide descending on a mountain road not far from Beijing. It turns out a local humble hero has saved people and cars from being buried under the falling rocks.

A massive landslide was filmed falling over a mountain road in Fangshan District, southwest of Beijing, on Sunday, temporarily interrupting the traffic flow. The footage shows huge rocks hitting the road, which would have crushed everything under the ground masses with no chance of survival.

But no injuries were reported, and cars are seen stopped right in front of the falling rocks. People were seen simply watching as they moved further away from the spot.

A local resident managed to predict the looming tragedy and was right in time to stop fifteen vehicles carrying 28 people from passing the spot where the land fell, just minutes before it happened. An Hongsan, who humbly sees nothing heroic in his deed, is a member of a geological disaster prevention team organized by the authorities, Xinhua reports.

"I am not a hero, that is just my job," An said, as cited by the state-run outlet. He recalled that he noticed something strange when he arrived at his patrol route on Sunday, which he visits at least twice a day. "I felt very nervous because it seemed that rocks were falling down continuously on that particular area of the mountain."
