A newly discovered FBI memo reveals British Prime Minister Winston Churchill wanted the US to consider dropping an atomic bomb on the Kremlin to prevent the spread of communism. Author Thomas Maier stumbled across a digital version of the document on the bureau’s website, realizing it had been in plain sight for nearly 10 years with no one noticing. RT’s Alexey Yaroshevsky takes a look at the little known piece of history.

Gen. Martin Dempsey on Thursday told the House Armed Services Committee nearly 80,000 “competent Iraqi security forces” will be needed to recapture territory lost to the Islamic State, and the Pentagon is “certainly considering” having US combat forces accompany Iraqi troops. RT’s Manila Chan has more on the general’s statements.
