This year, Congressional lawmakers accepted $3.7 million worth of free travel, the highest figure in a decade. Setting this year’s record is Rep. Mike McIntyre (D-N.C.), who received a $49,000 trip to Australia funded by a defense industry interest group. On the other side of the aisle, Tea Party Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) is currently on a free weeklong trip in Estonia. RT’s Lindsay France discuses with Thom Hartmann whether there are legitimate reasons for accepting these trips or if it’s just typical Washington lobbying.

A safe-sex bill introduced in California is upsetting many in the pornography industry. The proposed legislation requires the use of condoms by performers while also mandating employers keep their employees’ medical records. A potential cramping of style and violation of privacy, opinions are mixed. RT’s Lindsay France gets an insider’s view by speaking with Dennis Hoff, owner of the Moonlite Bunny Ranch, and performer Chloe Collens.
